MDSX is looking for a Creative Producer to be the main driver of themed entertainment and exhibit design projects from ideation to installation with attention towards client management, establishing channels of communication, and ensuring successful delivery according to schedules and budgets. Internal collaboration includes reporting to the Executive Director of Design and working in conjunction with the Account Manager and Creative Director. External collaboration may include working with client teams and external partners such as architects, engineers, and general contractors.
Job Description
- Primary responsibilities include project management through development and execution of scopes of work, budgets, and schedules, including but not limited to:
- Relaying client and project needs through sourcing, bidding, and processing of contracts including development and oversight of subcontractor scopes of work for design, fabrication, equipment, programming, integration and installation vendors.
- Supervision of internal design teams for adherence to project parameters including identifying needs, onboarding, and training of others.
- Overseeing the development, submittal, and presentation of design deliverables to clients for feedback and approvals throughout the project including final closeout.
- Tracking progress of subcontracts, purchase orders, and expenses against milestones with documentation and reports.
- Accountable for establishing, disseminating, and adhering to a communication plan, to ensure smooth and clear sharing of information across planning, design, production, and installation phases, including but not limited to:
- Serve as primary contact for scenic, interactive, media, audio, visual, lighting, and control vendors.
- Managing internal and external paths of communication, meetings, and file management.
- Provide consultation and support for the overall direction of creative intent during internal reviews and client review periods to ensure desired guest experience is maintained throughout project phases and deliverables.
Qualifications
- Leadership, creative thinking, problem solving and ability to convey ideas to clients, designers, and vendors.
- Collaborative team player that is able to contribute to the creative studio culture with strong planning, organization, and communication skills.
- 7+ years of project management experience in museum, themed entertainment, or live events projects.
- Self motivated with training in experiential design, theatrical design, film, or architecture and a willingness to learn from others through professional and personal development.
- Capable of supervising design teams, scopes of work, schedules, and budgets through participation, prioritization, and risk management.
- Familiarity with project management software to develop and update schedules and budgets.
- Compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and MDSX policies and procedures.
Features of Independent Contractor Agreement
- Remote position with flexibility in working hours, provided scheduled meetings can be accommodated
- Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) required for discussion of confidential project-related information
- Master Agreement required for long term collaboration (renews annually while an active contractor for MDSX) with associated Purchase Orders issued for project-specific assignments including detailed scopes of work

Salary
$60 – $100 per hour
